Things could get ugly

The remnants of Moto Maji will banish one more body from the tribe, clearing the way for the final four. That means things should be markedly less cozy between Big Tom, Lex, Ethan, Kim J, and Teresa as the room for alliances dwindles and the daggers come out.The CBS Web site promises that an old alliance will be cast in doubt -- which, come to think of it, is kind of the point of the show.Of course, we know that much already from last episode's scenes-from-next-week teaser: Repeat challenge winner Lex, apparently back to his old twitchy self after last week's respite, was once again baying for and ranting about cutting the throat of a would-be friend. Hmmm. Could that be his new drinkin' buddy Tom? Or do Survivor's sly producers just want us to think so? The contestants don't trust anyone and neither should you.

Loyalties

Also floated for tonight on the CBS/Survivor site: The tribe find "a special surprise" in their water pool (a hippo? Jeff Probst's ?) and one player becomes ambassador of a "momentous delivery" (Mountain Dew, Doritos, Visa cards, and other lucrative product placements for the local children, no doubt).Presuming Lex does lose his cool, another nick-of-time immunity victory could keep him in the game. Otherwise, we figure Moto Maji will cast out either him or Teresa, depending on which way their loyalties tip. Teresa did, after all, go against the majority by voting against Lex last week.Ethan, who's played a highly strategic and clean game so far, might want to get in touch with his inner snake and aim his vote at whoever will present the greatest physical competition in the final round, namely Lex.Who can expect the fewest grudges from the jury when decisions are cast next week? It looks good for Tom and Ethan.
